Looking at the subject of what is packaging, I came across this very simple container for a range of books. Working much like a business card case, in that the lid covers 80% of the casing. I much like this design due to its concept and consistancy with the product it is holding, the books had been catagorised into land, water, and desert. A pattern design and colour palette were created to reflect this. This is used across all design elements, including the casing.
The question of what is packaging, this could be seen as simple something the books needed to be put in, to be seen within retailers and by consumers as a working set of books. But overall its acting as a form of packaging - holding the books together in a format best suited for its purpose.
