FMP - Brief 7 - Final Product Photographs
Managed to get round photographing the final products for the boards, because of the small amount of products I think only one board will be produced for this brief.

FMP - Brief 7 - Stationary Design
As part of Kyms branding she wanted stationary designing to be in keeping with her brand and retain a professional level. Using the same typefaces and colour palette, I have simply pushed her brand across into different formats. I'm happy with the outcome and have received good feedback from Kym too, she is happy to go ahead with the designs.

FMP - Brief 7 - Appointment and Loyalty Cards
I've designed the new appointment and loyalty card for Everything Beauty, after contacting Kym to ask what other material her company distributes. I intend on sending the designs to recieve any feedback.
I have designed then in accordance to the business card design - to reflect the identity and to remain consistent.

FMP - Brief 7 - Printed Business Card Mock up
So to get a feel of how the final business card design would work, I printed a few on 200gsm matt white card. My double sided printer at home isn't brilliant so alignment isn't great, but overall I'm happy with the chosen stock, the size and layout of the logo and written material and the scale of text on the card.

FMP - Brief 7 - Decided Logo
Email Recieved:
Hello,
Brilliant images, i think we are settling on the bottom image, red logo black writing !
Kym
The chosen Design:
Although it wasn't my prefferred design I'm glad me and Kym have finally decided on a final outcome. It means I can start working on her products.
I have produced some backs for the business card design, which have considered to be inkeeping with the front design using the same typeface and in some the same combination of two. I need to contact Kym for feedback and to find out whether she wants any other information within it,
FMP - Brief 7 - Further Design development and feedback

Okay so looking at the images i like the bottom left image. only thing i would change is maybe make the b of the Eb into captial ?
I've managed to come up with 3 designs for the 2 letter logo.
Feedback Recieved:
Okay so looking at the images i like the bottom left image. only thing i would change is maybe make the b of the Eb into captial ?
how do you think that would look ?
Kym
I had been aware that proffesionally the lower case 'b' wouldn't have worked too well but I had initially struggled to produce a legible logo using two uppercase letters. So firstly I incorporated it within the writing logo, making sure each of the capitals where of the same X height. I also looked back at the rest of the words, as half is upper and half is lower case lettering so I made sure again that the X height was the same. I had to work with kerning quite closely so the lower case 'eauty' as it had became quite condensed.
Designs produced in accordance to feedback:
Working with kerning above
Keeping the X height consistent
Below, the range of designs I sent to kym. The three logos I managed to create my manipulating shapes and lines. Once the letters were expanded to become objects I found working with them a lot easier. The top right I feel works best but as I am working for a client, I felt it best to send across all produced logos. I have also reversed the colours to see again which she prefers.
The design I am most happy with, as the two letter logo is legible and not too busy like the others, and I too like the colour choices, I feel text looks better in black, and the logo being best in colour, but I will need the choice to be made by Kym.
Email Sent with attached above images:
Hope all went well at the Beauty event today!
I have changed it to capitals.
I have also tried reverse colour, so let me know which of the 6 designs would you like as a finalised piece?
Unless there are any further changes you would like?

Brief 7 - Further design and client contact
After the feedback I recieved from Kym in the last email I have tried to make the logo more calligraphic and incorporate her existing brand colour palette. It has been rather hard for her to communicate exactly what she wants as she keeps changing her mind. As this is a smaller brief I have mentioned my want to finish the logo design this week so I can quickly push this brief out and get business cards, and print collatoral finished.
Email Sent:
Hello here are the designed I mentioned.
Let me know what you think, in regard to which composition you prefer, which typeface, colour etc.
I do like the top right but feel it may look to 'provocative' for a beauty business, but just to show you anyway I've added it.
I want to try and finalise your designs this week, so try and get back to me as soon as you can so I can crack on.
Thanks!
Steph

FMP - Brief 7 - Client feedback 2
Kym from Everything Beauty finally got back to me on the artwork I'd previously sent. She stated that she wasn't keen on the illustrations I'd produced and preferred the purely typographic art work. She has asked I try to incorporate the colour red, rather than the pink I thought she was after. Regarding the logo, she wanted it more swirly and calligraphic.
Notes:
Incorporate Red
Keep it Type Led
The preferred artwork
Email returned:
Hello,
Great to know you like the direction. Thought I was going the right way with the chaise long but never mind!
What was it you liked about the 2 preferred designs, just so I can keep it consistant. If theres any newer designs which you like elements from, I can combine and play with the design work. Just let me know.

Keep it Type Led

FMP - Brief 7 - Client Contact
I found I was struggling with a strong concept for the designs I was producing and realised Kym had made it clear early on that she wanted an icon to represent her company. I had been focusing a lot more on type, so I decided to contact her, to retain a better understanding of what she does and the tools she uses to incorporate into the design.
Kym mentioned the Sofa being the most used tool, bizarely enough, and threading being the most popular service. This will give me a few options to work with, I intend on working with both image and type, making them work together.

Brief 7 - Everything Beauty
I was contacted by an old school friend, who had recently set up a mobile beauty business, asking me to possibly design her a logo, to be used across her brand, advertising, business cards and website. I thought it was a great opportunity to work with a live brief and client. I've had some initial contact with Kym about she wants, and she's very open to suggestions, the only thing she asks is that I stick to the colour palette within her current branding. She has sent over the designs from her current branding for me to get an idea of content, colour and style.
The written brief:
