This is my favourite packaging I've ever come across, down to the crafting quality, consideration of stock and fabric, sewing elements, content and how beautiful it looks. I wanted to create a similiar sense of style within my Douwe Egberts packaging, when approaching packaging samples and the glass jars - it would really give it a professional finish and a different, more personal approach to its overall appearance.
This style of packaging is very far from commercial down to the huge amount of effort which needs to be used to create each individual packet. Its driven by stock and material choice, the designer has come up with a very simple solution to packaging the content: chocolate coins. The style of packaging also reflects the brow brand of 'True Rum'

Brief 7 - Everything Beauty
I was contacted by an old school friend, who had recently set up a mobile beauty business, asking me to possibly design her a logo, to be used across her brand, advertising, business cards and website. I thought it was a great opportunity to work with a live brief and client. I've had some initial contact with Kym about she wants, and she's very open to suggestions, the only thing she asks is that I stick to the colour palette within her current branding. She has sent over the designs from her current branding for me to get an idea of content, colour and style.
The written brief:
DC - Art education campaign - Brief 1

I thought this was a pretty cool campaign aimed at education. The extent of their range is something I should consider, proposing an event is something I could possibly do, given the time, to promote the pack.

DC - Ready, set go - baby pack - Brief 1 10 Things

I love this cute little set of bits for a toddler, using vector illustrations with a lovely colour palette. They have identified products suitable for their target audience and applied them really well.

I absolutely love the application of colour and image within Baby best branding. Its spread across print and digital and works with both.

I really like the digital elements within this product range, the interactive bus shelter being my favourite. Its something I aspire to be able to either design or propose.

FMP - Brief 1 - Educational Colours - Kuler
Before I started generating an identity for the product range, I need to identify a suitable colour palette which will reflect the products ethos and purpose, and to be attractive to both a young child, as the product user, and a parent, as the consumer.

Toy Boat:
After searching for potential colour palettes I found the most suitable to be named 'Toyboat', the colours are unisex, which is an important element as the products I intend on creating are aimed at both boys and girls. Some of the colours are primary colours - the kind a child would be introduced to in the early stages of school. An important element of this colour palette is that it holds bright, engaging colours - young children need this to stay interested and engaged with a product.
